Yes you can just cut and paste your word documents in. But pictures you won't be able to put on the blog by cut and paste, you will have to upload each one individually.

One of the easiest ways to to use a blog to set it up. Alternatively you can use a web publishing software like MS frontpage and upload to any hosting website.
